Cancellations, coronavirus, and car changes

Cancellations, coronavirus, and car changes

Do you know what really applies the brakes to a racing page/blog? A global pandemic that freezes all racing activities. 🤭 I work in healthcare, so I truly hope everyone is staying safe, healthy, and unexposed to the COVID-19 outbreak. I know we are all more than ready to suit up in our hot cars, do a burnout and make a pass, but for now we are essentially stuck in the pits until we are called back to staging lanes. While this isn’t ideal for any of us, maybe you can use this time to do some maintenance on the car, trailer, or tow vehicle? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I took my own advice and decided to upgrade the wagon during this unplanned downtime, with a lot of help from Cody and my Dad. The tachometer, water temperature, and oil pressure gauges were not easily visible or reliable before this weekend. So we raised the tach, installed new temperature and oil pressure gauges in a better location, and wired everything back up.

The next step was to install a K&R Performance Engineering digital dial-in board that was given to me at Christmas. This project is where the men really demonstrated their skills in order to preserve the stock appearance of the wagon’s interior. The dial board control panel was mounted on the dash below the factory speedometer and the wiring was hidden behind the dash, under the carpet, and behind the rear bench seat.

Dad fabricated a custom bracket on the dial-in board which can be easily moved to the opposite side of the car, depending on which racetrack I will be at. I think the blue display looks awesome behind the window tint and I couldn’t be happier, although now I really can’t wait to get back on the track!

The final project I have been working on is also exciting for me, because I wanted to write Racer Recognition posts from the moment I created this site. I wanted to talk in person to different people in the racing community and write a story that would feature each of them, individually. Now with social distancing and canceled race events, I’m having to edit my approach, but the first RR will be coming out very soon! I’m also taking suggestions on my Facebook page, email, or in the comments below on who you would like to see featured in future RR posts. So stay tuned!

I recently found what I hoped for before you know it at all. Quite unusual. Is likely to appreciate it for those who add forums or anything, site theme . a tones way for your customer to communicate.
